33K Lip Seal with Split Design
- Split Seal for Bearing and Gearbox Protection
The Chesterton patented 33K split design minimizes the need for and the associated costs of equipment disassembly and improves seal performance over conventional lip seals. This innovative split technology minimizes the penetration of external contaminants entering the housing and provides excellent service in bearing and gearbox applications.
This seal is a combination of two different material types: the unitized housing is made from abrasion‑resistant thermoset polyurethane that energizes the seal and provides easy mounting to the equipment, while the sealing interface is made from high‑performance, filled PTFE material developed specifically for sealing applications. The seal can be installed in either direction, allowing the end user to position the sealer rings away from a previously damaged shaft.
The 33K is manufactured using our unique machining process that minimizes the need for tooling costs associated with new sizes.
